Concealed Carry Law Notice in Libraries

The Harris-Elmore Public Library and Genoa Branch Library are community gathering places for life long learning and has children and adults of all ages in their buildings at all times.  The Ohio General Assembly has enacted legislation that includes an exemption for public libraries as a permissible location for concealed weapons.

The Board of Trustees has resolved that weapons of any kind, either concealed or in plain view, on its property or its buildings will not be permitted, unless the owner of the weapon is a law enforcement officer.

The Library has posted the necessary notification of its staus as exempt from Ohio's Concealed Carry Legislation as required by the Ohio Revised Code.
