Elmore Hometown Holiday

The Elmore Historical Society, Explore Elmore Committee, Harris-Elmore Fire Department, and the Harris-Elmore Public Library are partnering to bring some extra fun and excitement to the Holiday Season this year!

All of our events comply with social distancing and Covid-19 safety measures. 

Christmas House Decorating Contest

The Elmore Historical Society will be hosting their 1st annual Christmas House Decorating Contest!

There will be prizes for 1st , 2nd  & 3rd in the PEOPLE'S CHOICE category. 

Winners will also be awarded a yard sign to proudly display

Registration

Pick up paper registrations at Elmore General Store, Christy's Corners, Whimsy & Blue, Crafty Needle & the Harris-Elmore Public Library.  

You can also fill out the online registration form on the right.

To enter your home into the contest, you must live within the village of Elmore with boundaries at Orchard Dr., Walnut Hill (and the Turnpike), Ernsthausen Rd., Union Cemetery, and Schedel Gardens.

DEADLINE: December 7, 2020

Judging

December 11th- December 19th 

 

There will be separate ballots on one sheet for both “People’s Choice” Best Decorated Home and “People’s Choice” Best Decorated Business. They can be picked up at the Elmore General Store, Christy's Corners, Whimsy & Blue, Crafty Needle and Harris-Elmore Public Library.  You can pick up ballots beginning December 11th.

ANYONE CAN VOTE!  No age or residency limits.

 

All ballots must be turned by December 19th and can be dropped off (at the latest) that day by 12pm at the Library or by 4pm at the Elmore General Store.

 

Prizes will be announced on December 21st

Santa Parade & Drive-by Greetings

DECEMBER 12th   6pm   Woodmore High School Parking Lot

 

Santa Claus will be touring the streets of Elmore on a firetruck festively decorated for the Christmas season!

The tour will begin at the Woodmore High School Parking Lot and make its way through the village for families to come out and wave to Santa as he slowly goes by.

 

The tour will also pass most of the houses and businesses that have registered for the decorating contests-- making it a great way for everyone to join in and see all the decorations as a community.

 

7pm  Woodmore High School Parking Lot

After the tour, Santa will be waiting in the High School Parking Lot to wave say "hello" to everyone that drives through the parking lot line.  He will be giving out goodie bags for each carload!  Please stay in your vehicle during this visit.

Wildcat Express Storybook Challenge

December 3rd-December 17th

Children can pick up their Wildcat Express Ticket from the Harris-Elmore Public Library to see what Elmore Businesses they will be stopping in to collect story/coloring pages to complete their very own story book. Once they have completed their book they can bring it back to the library to claim a special prize!

Letters to Santa

November 27th-December 15th

Children are encouraged to drop off their letters to Santa at the Harris-Elmore Public Library and they will make sure they get to the North Pole for them.

 

On December 23rd, they can tune in to the library’s YouTube channel to watch Santa read and answer their letters!! 

 

They can also tune in on Christmas Eve for a special Christmas Bedtime Story Read by Mrs. Claus!

Elmore Store Front Decorating Contest

Make sure to check out the Elmore Business Store Fronts (both on Main Street and the outlying areas) for some awesome displays!  YOU get to decide the winner in this PEOPLE'S CHOICE contest!  

Participating Businesses will be listed here soon! They will also be on the same judging ballot as the House Decorating Contest.
